A Taste of Christmas at New Inn

The fires are lit, the glasses are polished, and our kitchen is alive with the scent of winter flavours. Christmas is coming to New Inn. Chef Mike and the team have crafted a festive menu that celebrates the best of Yorkshire produce and the warmth of the season.

From 27th November, we’ll be serving up hearty classics, elegant plates, and showstopping sharers. Each dish reflects Mike’s signature focus on local, seasonal ingredients and bold, comforting flavours.

A Menu Made for the Season

Expect the familiar, but never ordinary. Starters like Jerusalem Artichoke Soup with pickled walnuts or a Yorkshire Game Terrine with medlar jelly set the tone for a Christmas feast with character.

Mains bring together indulgence and finesse, from Pan-Fried Cod with Nyetimber velouté to the Hanger Steakwith baked bone marrow and Tewkesbury mustard. And of course, the Traditional Roast Turkey is everything it should be: generous, golden, and served with all the trimmings including pigs in blankets, chestnuts, cranberry sauce and rich gravy.

The Showstopper: Goose Sharing Platter

If there’s one dish to steal the spotlight this Christmas, it’s the Christmas Sharing Roast Platter. Designed for two or more to share, it’s a feast of Roast Goose and Topside of Beef with Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, sprout tops with bacon and chestnuts, and braised red cabbage. It’s the ultimate centrepiece for your festive table.

Room for More?

Finish on a high with indulgent puddings like Tipsy Trifle with wild plum jelly and Parkin, Dark Chocolate Mousse with honeycomb, or the classic Christmas Pudding with Wray and Nephew rum custard. And if you’re too content to leave, why not make a night of it? Our six newly refurbished, dog-friendly rooms offer comfort, views, and the perfect way to wake up in Appletreewick after a merry evening.
